Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate mechanical and actuation subsystems for thrust vector control (TVC) systems
- Support the integration and testing of actuators, including mechanical, electrical, and thermal interfaces
- Perform structural and thermal analyses of TVC components operating in high-temperature environment
- Contribute to the design and qualification of insulation and material systems for thermal protection and mechanical stability
- Support system-level testing, including test stand setup, data acquisition, and performance evaluation
- Collaborate closely with the avionics team to ensure proper actuator communication, control feedback, and overall system performance
- Document design, analysis, and test results in accordance with internal quality and configuration management processes
Basic Qualification
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience with actuation systems (electromechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic), including mechanism design and integration
- Solid background in structural and thermal finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Hypermesh, or Simcenter 3D
- Hands-on experience with hardware testing, including instrumentation, calibration, and data evaluation
- Proficiency in CAD-based mechanical design (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA)
- Understanding of materials behavior under thermal and mechanical loads, including metals, composites, and insulation materials
- Experience with high-performance or aerospace-grade mechanisms exposed to vibration, temperature, or dynamic loads
Desired Experience
- Experience in aerospace or propulsion system development, particularly with thrust vector control or similar actuation systems
- Familiarity with dynamic simulations (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Adams) for motion and load prediction
- Exposure to environmental qualification processes (vibration, thermal vacuum, endurance)
- Knowledge of sensor and feedback systems for actuator control and performance monitoring
