Compensation: $135,000 - $165,000 base salary + comprehensive US benefits package

As adoption of our technology accelerates, we're looking for a customer-focused Applications Engineer to join our growing US team in Hillsboro, Oregon.

This is an opportunity to become a recognised technical expert, working directly with leading semiconductor manufacturers and research organisations to solve some of the industry's most complex measurement challenges.


The Opportunity

You'll serve as the technical bridge between our customers, our worldwide applications team and our product development engineers.

Working directly with semiconductor fabs, research institutes and technology partners, you'll help customers unlock the full performance of Infinitesima's AFM technology through method development, data analysis, application optimisation and technical consultation.

This is far more than a support role. You'll become a trusted expert, influencing customer success, supporting commercial growth and helping shape the future direction of our products.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as the primary technical applications contact for customers across North America
  • Lead customer demonstrations and proof-of-capability projects
  • Develop measurement methodologies and application workflows for advanced semiconductor use cases
  • Interpret complex customer requirements and translate them into practical metrology solutions
  • Optimise recipes, measurement parameters and system performance to deliver the best possible results
  • Troubleshoot application challenges and identify root causes of performance issues
  • Conduct sample analysis, generate technical reports and communicate findings clearly to customers
  • Present technical data and application results to engineers, scientists and senior stakeholders
  • Partner with Sales, Product Management and Engineering teams to support business growth
  • Represent Infinitesima at conferences, customer workshops and industry events
  • Share customer feedback and industry trends to influence future product development

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Deep technical expertise in Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and scanning probe microscopy techniques
  • Experience developing, optimising and interpreting nanoscale measurement methods
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, process control or advanced metrology applications
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and communicate solutions clearly
  • Excellent presentation and customer engagement skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident with unrestricted right to work in the United States

Highly Desirable

  • Experience in semiconductor process development, yield engineering or metrology
  • Experience supporting customers in a field applications, applications engineering or technical sales environment
  • Knowledge of advanced process control and data analysis methodologies
  • Experience with analytical or scientific instrumentation
  • Conference presentation, publication or customer training experience
